Education Programme : |
|
Swami Vivekananda said, "Education is the manifestation of the Perfection
already in man.“ So, education has always been our top most priority. At present we are
running four schools as detailed hereunder. |
|
|
i) "Sarada Round Table Sishu Vidyapith" (Morning & Day session) for pre-primary to class IV students : |
|
|
There are 278 students ( Boys & Girls). Apart from literal education, cultural, coaching,
drawing, social awareness, value based education, skill development, moral
development etc. are the items of education programme. Students from nearby and
distant villages get admission here for and they are in the process of achieving excellent results. We are glad to inform that, some of the ex-students are already well established in their life. |

ii) Sishu Sramik Vidyalaya (Day session)
Here it is mention worthy about the education of child labour and magnitudeof their problems: |
|
|
The rural poor families who depend on agriculture hardly send their children to
formal schools. ln consequence, the children are obviously forced to work in agriculture
and in other various trades-like bidi rolling, tea shop, grocery shop, rickshaw pulling,
rag picking, motor garage, leth machine factories, fire works etc. The severe workload
put pressure on the mind and body of the children and slowly they are spoiled by
addicting to smoking, alcohol, drug and involved on unsocial activities. lt is a burning
problem of our society. Keeping in mind all these we are trying our best to overcome
this problem. ln consistent with the view of Central and State Govt. we are maintaining
programme to efface child labour problem from our locality. ln the year l997 with the
co-operation of Narendrapur Ramakrishna Mission Lokshiksha Parisad "Sishu Sramik
Vidyalaya“ was started. Now 50 students read in the school. Last year 14 out of 50
students were promoted. They are allowed to enter in local schools for higher study.
Child labour school imparts literal education, functional education, training on nutrition,
health and cultural education like recitation, quiz, games and sports etc. They are
provided mid-day meal everyday. With the help of Loksiksha Parisad the expenses of
education along with Tiffin cost are being provided. Beside this, Rs. 150/- per Month is
being deposited in the local bank against each student so that the amount can be utilized
in the near future for their financial establishment. Apart from that, our staffs meet with
their guardian and consult with them for self employment opportunities.
Till now about 751 students have been benefited under this scheme. Always we
stress on quality of education. Swamiji said “Real Education is that which enables one
to stand on one‘s legs”. This message of Swamiji is motivating us to conduct the
education programme in efficient manner. |

iii) Agami Sarada non-formal School/ Rukshmini Devi Sishu Vihar : |
|
|
One of our main achievement is that, at Ashram Premises, we have Started a
non-formal school with 38 (Thirty eight ) children at present. “Agami Sarada non-
formal School” Which is sponsored by “Agapay” a German voluntary organization
names this child education centre. “Agapay” sponsors regular arrangement of Tiffin for the children and salary for two lady teachers |
|
|
|
|
iv) Swami Vivekananda Boys' home : |
|
|
With the help of donations available from some patrons and well-wishers we are
maintaining “Swami Vivekananda Boys' home” consisting 20 (twenty) destitute
children at present. The objective of establishing the Home was to save those ill fated
children who are being neglected due to death of either of their parents or born in
families where their parents can hardly provide them minimum basic needs such as
food, clothes, etc. and to think about their future which presumably would end up with
swelling the criminal classes of the society. The home started with 10 children four
years back, These children are being provided with all kinds of possible assistance such
as free shelter, fooding, clothing, primary education with study materials as well as
periodical medical check-up. We, therefore, hope, these children would be brought up
in such a way that in course of time they would become good citizens of the country.
But, we cannot carry on such a noble mission with our limited means and financial
constraints where as substantial funds are needed to materialise the scheme, without
financial assistance and concrete support of the benevolent people it is quite impossible
to take appropriate care of the proposed orphans as well to fulfil the scope of our
objective of rehabilitating many' more distressed children in near future. |

|
|
v) Amiya Mitra Book Bank : |
|
|
|
We have distributed study materials to the 25 poor students (Primary &
Secondary & Higher Secondary) from our “Amiya Mitra Book Bank” which was
established in the name of Late Amiya Kr. Mitra, Ex-Trusty Board member and Ex-
President of our Organization.

|
|
|
Considering the destitute conditions of the people, we are running a small
Charitable Dispensary with a nominal charge. Many patients from distant villages come
here at “Nibedita Charitable Dispensary" to get proper medical treatment. Some famous
doctors of Kolkata attend the Centre. Last year 500 patients came here to get treatment.
The major expenditure is borne generously by Fusharam Jhawar Charitable Trust, Kolkata. |
